About us

We're on a mission to make local wool production viable by:

Paying fair wool prices for farmers

Creating beautiful yarns for all crafters

Highlighting the special characteristics of specific breeds

Our process

We source wool from local and regional farms in New England. Once the wool is skirted and cleaned, we work with a local mill to spin the yarn into the various weights. The yarn is then hand-dyed before we bring it to our local yarn store partners or offer it to our customer base, either through our on-line store or at various yarn festivals and shows.

Our Roots

Bobolink Yarns was the brain child of Katie Sullivan, who started the business a while back while shepherding in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont - and realized that options for sheep farmers to sell their wool were pretty limited and that a lot of wool was just being thrown away.

Jennifer Arbuckle, Co-Owner at Must Love Yarn in Shelburne, VT, bought Bobolink Yarns in late 2024 and fully intends to continue, and build on, Katie’s original vision.
