Description
Dave Martin’s flock of Cheviot and Montadale sheep at Settlement Farm produce a phenomenally versatile wool. Its crisp springiness and softness would be suitable for virtually anything. Our expert, Mary Jeanne Packer at Battenkill Fibers, suggested blending this next-to-skin softness with a little nylon to create a strong sock yarn. Great idea!
Settlement Sock is a 3-ply light fingering, 75% wool and 25% nylon for durability and strength. Although designed with socks in mind, this yarn works wonderfully for a variety of applications, like shawls, scarves and drapey sweaters.
